This grant provided needed food for our clients. It also allowed us to partner with the Clark County Purdue Extension Nutritionist to offer a Nutrition & Cooking Class in the summer of 2022. Every participant in the class received new recipes, groceries, and a crock pot.

Jack was nominated by Dare to Care Food Bank for his dedication to volunteering in their mobile markets and warehouse, as well as with Dare to Care partners the Center for Lay Ministries Food Pantry and the Franciscan Kitchen each week. Jack is a wonderful volunteer who cares greatly about helping feed people in need.

- [From Hunger to Hope](https://centerforlayministries.org/from-hunger-to-hope/): Make plans to join us for our Second Annual Hunger to Hope Gala on Thursday, August 22. The casual luau-themed dinner and silent auction will be held at The Refinery South (formerly Kye’s II). The tickets are $75.

- [Summer Fun…](https://centerforlayministries.org/summer-fun/): We always get excited when the warmer weather hits. Bliss House and our Bliss Alumnae plan different events to help the women we serve to explore having fun without a drink or drug. In June, we had a carwash to raise money for our ladies to attend Float for Recovery. Float for Recovery is designed around sober fun and all proceeds benefit the Healing Place in Louisville. In July, our Alumnae rally together and raise money for a weekend camping trip for our current Bliss House residents. They sleep in tents, go tubing in a lake, and end each day around a bonfire sharing about their experiences, old and new. 
- [Leadership Class Visits CLM](https://centerforlayministries.org/leadership-class-visits-clm/): The Leadership Southern Indiana Elevate Class of 2019 toured the CLM Food Pantry as part of their Ethics and Service class day. The group created 40 food kits for our homeless clients and cleaned up our lobby area. They learned what a difference they can make in our community by donating their time.

Over 100 guests attended the event which was emceed by Sarah Jordan of 99.7 WDJX. Bliss House graduate Desaree shared her story with the group. The program was held at 300 Spring with breakfast provided by Geraldine’s Kitchen.
